Aw, don't cry, Ella. They're just cinders.
—Tisbe to Cinderella src

Tisbe is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. She débuts in the fourth episode of the first season. She is portrayed by co-star Goldie Hoffman in Season Six.

Tisbe is based on the Evil Stepsisters from the fairytale "Cinderella", and on Drizella Tremaine from the Disney film Cinderella.

History

Before First Curse

After their mother's second marriage, Clorinda and Tisbe gain a stepsister named Ella. One day, Prince Thomas' footman, Jacob, comes to deliver an invitation to the King's ball. Tisbe and Clorinda rush to meet the messenger, while pushing Ella out of the way. Lady Tremaine begins picking out gowns for her daughters, but decides none of them are suitable and that she'll have to sell porcelain to buy them new dresses. Ella asks if she may attend the ball, which Tisbe finds amusing. When Ella shows them a dress she inherited from her deceased mother, Lady Tremaine gives the dress to Clorinda, who shoves it into the furnace to burn it as Tisbe holds back Ella. When Ella pulls out the ruined dress, Tisbe comments that they are just cinders, and Clorinda then coins the nickname "Cinderella" for Ella, after poking fun of her for being covered in cinders because of the burnt dress. The three laugh over Ella's misery and then leave to prepare for the ball. ("The Other Shoe")

After Cinderella is forbidden to leave the house, she sees Clorinda, Tisbe and their mother take a carriage to the ball at the King's castle. She is forced to stay behind, and sadly watches them leave. ("The Price of Gold")

At the ball, Tisbe is with Clorinda in the crowd of party-goers, while Cinderella slips past the pair without them noticing. At some point during the evening, Tisbe meets a duke.[1] ("The Other Shoe")
