Anyone else bothered by how Will burned it in the end to "not be a thief"? Even if he had turned it in to the Caterpillar, he wouldn't be a thief...they didn't end up stealing it, the Grendel gave it to him. Plus, Will was really fantastic with the Grendel, he shouldn't have to pay for that. They didn't steal it. They went there to, but he saved the Grendel's life for Christ's sake.
I guess it just bothers me. It felt wrong. Like it was in there just to create more drama, not because it fits well with the story. :/ 'Specially 'cuz it kinda nulls all the good done with the Grendel in the first place-"We stole it, we didn't get it for being super good and nice to a Monster or anything, we totally stole it".
Argh. Grr. Sorry, ramble-y, but does anyone else agree? :S Point being, it shouldn't have been burned, I think that was bad writing, and that was why. Anyone agree? :3
