Come in.
—Stephen to Jiminy, Myrna and Martin src

Stephen is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. He débuts in the fourth episode of the first season. He is portrayed by guest star Luke Camilleri, and does not have a Storybrooke counterpart.

History

Before First Curse

In the Enchanted Forest, he and his wife, Donna, are tricked by Jiminy Cricket's parents, Myrna and Martin, about an elfin plague. They give them a fake serum as a cure. Unbeknownst to Jiminy, they switched the usual water serum they always use to scam people and give them the potion Rumplestiltskin had given Jiminy to get rid of his parents. Stephen turns into a puppet after drinking the potion along with his wife, which causes their son, Geppetto, much alarm and grief. ("That Still Small Voice")

Rumplestiltskin collects the puppets and keeps them in his castle for many years. ("The Snow Queen", "It's Not Easy Being Green", "The Apprentice", "Changelings", "Heroes and Villains", "Skin Deep", "Snow Drifts", "There's No Place Like Home")

During First Curse

During the twenty-eight years of the curse, Stephen and Donna remain as puppets in Mr. Gold's pawnshop collection. ("Welcome to Storybrooke", "Save Henry", "The Price of Gold", "That Still Small Voice", "The Shepherd", "The Stranger", "An Apple Red as Blood", "A Land Without Magic")

After Third Curse

At some point prior to Henry breaking in Mr. Gold's pawnshop, Stephen and Donna are put back in display on a counter. During a speech about the danger of messing with magic, the kid shows them to Violet and explains that they were originally human, implying that magic caused the couple to become wooden puppets. ("Only You")
