The kind of guy who... and now, stop me if I get this wrong, embezzled from your employer, got arrested, and skipped town before they were able to throw your ass in jail.

Emma to Ryan src

Ryan is a character on ABC's Once Upon a Time. He débuts, with his only appearance, in the first episode of the first season. He is portrayed by guest star Warren Christie.

History

During First Curse

Embezzling all his family's money, Ryan runs away from home while leaving behind his wife and children. After using up the money, he eventually gets arrested. At some point, he relocates to Boston and meets a woman on an internet dating website. They arrange a restaurant date, which he arrives early to. When his date shows up, he contemplates her looks. She starts off by telling him her name is Emma and how she grew up as an orphan. He then tries to guess what kind of attributes she possesses, and Emma takes her turn by unveiling knowledge about his crimes. Caught red-handed, he flips the table and bolts out of the restaurant. As Ryan attempts to make a getaway in his car, he discovers Emma already put a tire boot in place to prevent him from escaping. Recalling her orphan sob story, he demands to know what she knows about family. Emma knocks him out cold before replying, "Nothing." ("Pilot")
