Romeo Tirone is an episode director for ABC's Once Upon a Time and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

Biography

Romeo Tirone was born in Brooklyn, New York City and graduated from St. John's University. He broke into the film industry through music videos and his first credit came in 1986 as a camera operator on the famous Aerosmith and Run-DMC collaboration "Walk This Way." He continued his career in music videos, eventually moving up to the role as cinematographer. In the early nineties, he branched into large televised live events.[1]

Tirone's first work in feature films came in 1996, when he served as a cinematographer on the low-budget crime drama Lowball.[1] He worked on a number of made-for-television movies, before he was hired as a director of photography on the successful TV series Dexter,[1] which earned him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a One-Hour Series for the 2008 episode "The British Invasion".[2] He also moved into directing with this show, helming several episodes of its later seasons. His success as a director continued as he helmed episodes of several well-known TV shows, including True Blood, Nurse Jackie, Sleepy Hollow , Constantine and Taken.[1]
