It was an awesome character. They wrote it brilliantly. I loved playing him. I got to be an evil guy which was really, really cool.

Robbie A. Kay is the British actor who portrays Peter Pan and Peter Pan (Wish Realm) on ABC's Once Upon a Time.

Biography

Robert[3] "Robbie" Kay was born on September 13,[1] 1995[2] in the town of Lymington in Hampshire, England.[2] He is the son of midwife Stephanie and Merchant Navy seafarer Ivan Kay,[4] and has two sisters.[5] His mother originates from Newcastle upon Tyne's West End with his maternal grandmother Barbara Donaldson currently residing in Arthur's Hill, Newcastle. Robbie's parents met in Tynemouth while his father was in the Merchant Navy.[4]

At nine, Robbie was in various school plays.[6] After moving to Prague, a school noticeboard asking for extras in a film, specifically English-speaking children, helped him nab a speaking role in the 2006 period drama The Illusionist despite having no professional acting experience. However, the scene itself was edited out from the final cut. Afterwards, he received minor parts in movies Hannibal Rising and My Boy Jack.[4]

From this, Robbie piqued the interest of a Canadian company who requested him to try out for the part of Young Jakob in their upcoming film Fugitive Pieces.[4] The casting directors of Fugitive Pieces had auditioned over one-hundred fifty boys before accepting Robbie as their choice.[7] One of the casting directors, Nancy Bishop, was hired by production to coach Robbie.[8] The shooting schedule of the movie took place in a total of nine weeks; six weeks in Canada and three weeks on some Greek islands.[4]
