  • Hey. So I have been away from the wiki for a while and I recently decided to start contributing again. I am not sure who's in charge of pages, but I noticed that on the Fairytale page for Cinderella, the story is a mix between Perrault's version and the Brothers Grimms' version. How should I proceed?

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • Usually, the origin of the first known publication of the fairytale is listed in the introduction paragraph at the top usually also providing the book and author name it was published under. However, for the traditional plot, it's not specified if the summary is a depiction of one fairytale version of Cinderella. The suggested idea of having both Cinderella story versions on the page is a current wiki discussion (though the thread itself has been inactive for some months now...), but it'd be great if you want to give an opinion within the thread and resume the conversation here: http://onceuponatime.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:172432

"Was that the Snow Queen, or Frozen’s Elsa, in the final moments?

    Adam Horowitz: That was Elsa.

So you’ll base the character on Frozen and not the original fairy tale?

Horowitz: We are dealing with the world of Frozen. We are honored to be allowed to do it. We loved the movie. We fell in love with it when it came out last year like everyone did, and we want to do our best to do it justice."

It is clearly stated that she is to be referred to as Elsa, not the Snow Queen. There is no argument here.

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • I understand what they said but as I have said multiple times now we don't know yet how she will be credited by ABC. This argument is just circular.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • But we have no proof that she will credited as Snow Queen either. There is no evidence that ABC would credit her as the Snow Queen, so why would she be called that on here right now? If you are saying that you don't know how ABC will address the character, you are now just picking the title of Snow Queen over Elsa because ABC hasn't given anyone a reason to call her the Snow Queen. It doesn't make sense...

  • Hi Prince :) I just noticed something: on the Worlds templates (like Oz, Neverland FTL, etc...) there is a "Relevant pages" section with Gallery, Timeline and Locations. I wonder why we can not add a link in this section to the List of Characters of the world too :)

      Preparing Editor Spell
  • What do all the points next to them mean? Because there is no total or anything so I am confused to how they work.

      Preparing Editor Spell
  • Hey, I thought we could have discussed about the color instead of one just picking it and then simply reverting other's suggestion XD It's just a color, so It's ok whatever we end up using, but yet, I would've liked to talk about it first. :P

  • Can you correct the appearances template? It still says "will appear" in Quiet Minds.

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • Sorry about that. All fixed. Also, I know you did a lot of work with the book appearance template, so if you could help me out by adding the icon to pages for whatever appeared in the books, I would appreciate it. I never read them myself so my knowledge is limited.

  • Hey, I'm sorry but I don't get why some character pages are being edited to add the Books icon? o.o

  • Hello,

I was just dropping by to ask why the Cheshire Cat and Silvermist pages were up for deletion? Was it due to the small their small-one appearance roles or the fact we may never see them again?

    Just curious.

    • I disagree with Grendel, as he was featured much more in his appearance. But I completely agree with Bearded Man and Carpenter. Even woman/mother. I am not trying to say they didn't contribute to the flow of the story. I love stories like this that have multiple moving parts all of which are necessary. But page worthiness is another matter in and of itself. Usually, there isn't a consensus reached for page deletion. That's one executive power the admins have usually maintained for various reasons. But if enough people can prove the pages necessary then their Canidacy for Deletion will certainly be lifted. And remember deletions are not permanent. They can be restored at any time should a character reappear and make a larger contribution. The reason I am making this judgment call for "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" now is the cancellation, making the story rather close-ended.

    • Of course. My naming of Grendel may have been a bit blatant. Just trying to think of more one-shot examples. I agree with the  others as well. As much as I'd like to say Mr. Shamed had a big role in ensuring Cyrus got to Wonderland in the first place, even I will admit even he didn't get as much screentime as Silvermist did. Same goes with Carpenter. I am one of those people that likes the idea that if they appeared in the original story or had some significance to their appearance that does their origin justice, they have a right to have a page. But knowing the wiki policies, that may be a bit brash given that even though certain iconic characters appear, it doesn't give them the ultimate right to have a page. So long as their origin is credited, I'm fine with that much at least. Ah, alright then. The perks of being in charge. Wonderful. :) Still, given the cancelation, there's still the hope that we may see some deleted material revolving around certain characters. Recalling the regard of the Cat slated to appear in the midseason finale and yet...nothing, there may have been a scene that might have been cut out. So perhaps, hold off on the Cat for a bit, but while I'm still against Silvermist's deletion, you are after all the one to make that desicion. I just wondered that's all. I thought their presence both on the show and on the wiki were....erhm....significant, but that might just be me playing favorites again.

  • I'm currently writing my Master's Thesis on Once Upon a Time, and I was wondering if it would be alright for me to start a thread in an attempt to get some feedback from some fellow fans of the show.  Much of my research deals with Disney's role in the show (mostly through allusions), and I'm interested in getting some authentic opinions on/reactions to the Disney allusions and intertextuality of OUaT. I figured being up front about it would be the best way to avoid stepping on any toes.

Let me know what you think! Thanks!

    • As long as the wiki is credited, I see no problem in an educational pursuit.

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Yeah, I'm not big on plagiarism, so all research will receive proper attribution in MLA formatting. :) Thanks so much.

  • I know the users on here will be interested to play Once Upon a Time trivia. Since you took it off of news and announcements I don't know where a good place to share it would be?

      Preparing Editor Spell
    • O.o...

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • The other admins and I really aren't comfortable with this being advertised on the wiki

        Preparing Editor Spell
    • Advertising is not the intent... it's really just sharing. Something cool happend for Once Upon a Time and all the fans deserve to know. That's what I'm trying to get across. I'm not affiliated with QuizUp. I did write the quiz though, with help from this wiki even.

Just go try it... I'm sure you're not afraid you'll lose. You should know Once Upon a Time better than most :P
