Divine Magic is a type of magic featured on ABC's Once Upon a Time. It first appears in the sixth episode of the third season.

Divine magic is based on the magic wielded by the gods in Greek mythology.

Uses

Divine Magic is the type of magic used by Deities. Their abilities are known to be nearly infinite. Known divine magical abilities are:

• Mirror Enchantments: Deities are able to see through mirrors and travel through them. ("Ariel")
• Possession: Deities are able to take possession of inanimate elements, such as statues of themselves. ("Ariel")
• Advanced Aerokinesis: Deities are capable of using an advanced and powerful form of aerokinesis, as Hades easily pushed Silver and Liam off the edge of the Fiery Cave with only one puff. ("The Brothers Jones")
• Conjuration: Deities are able to conjure objects out of the blue. ("The Brothers Jones")
• Heart-ripping: Deities are able to rip someone's heart out in order to control or kill them, among other purposes.
• Heart-Stopping: Deities are able to stop the heart of other deities. This affected deity is then unable to feel any positive feelings. Only True Love's Kiss can break this curse. ("Our Decay")
• Immortality: As stated multiple times by Hades, deities are immortal and cannot die. The only exception to this ability is when a god is erased from existence by the Olympian Crystal. However, according to the Underworld storybook, deities can kill each other without using the crystal. ("Souls of the Departed" et al., "Last Rites")
  • Eternal Youth: Even if they are thousands of years old, deities do not age. ("Poor Unfortunate Soul" et al.)
• Magic Crafting: Deities are able to create immensely strong magic items per human standards, like the Holy Grail. Hades was also able to repair the powerful Olympian Crystal. This ability is, however, revoked when the deity's heart is stopped. ("Poor Unfortunate Soul", "Nimue", "Last Rites")
• Magical Immobilization: Deities are able to magically immobilize something or someone. ("Poor Unfortunate Soul", "Devil's Due")
• Protection Spells: Deities are able to magically protect a location, an item or a person through various ways.
• Pyrokinesis: Deities are able to conjure and control fire. Hades can even set his hair ablaze with blue flames. ("Desperate Souls" et al.)
• Teleportation: Deities are able to magically teleport oneself and/or others from one location to another. ("Poor Unfortunate Soul", "Labor of Love" et al.)
• World-crossing: Deities are able to travel between any worlds. ("The Brothers Jones" et al.)
• Resurrection: Despite the basic laws of magic, Zeus was able to revive Hook, once he went to Mount Olympus. ("Last Rites")
• Shapeshifting: Deities are able to alter the appearance of oneself or others.
• Singing Spells: Deities are able to magically enhance, remove or restore the singing voices of themself or others.
• Telekinesis: Deities are able to control the movement of the environment. ("Last Rites")
