Biography
Thomsen began his television career as a writer's assistant on Birds of Prey in 2002. He made his writing debut on the MTV series Punk'd in 2003. He was a writer's assistant for the pilot episode of Skin in 2003. He became a Script Supervisor for Smallville in 2004. He was a writer's assistant for Close To Home in 2005 and wrote an episode of the series in 2006.
He was a staff writer for the second season of Terminater: The Sarah Connor Chronicles in the 2008 to 2009 television season. He wrote three episodes of the series before its cancellation at the end of the season. During the 2009 to 2010 television season he wrote three episodes of Melrose Place.
Thomsen joined the crew of Once Upon a Time as an Executive Story Editor for the first season. He joined the crew when the first season was ordered and debuted on the second episode The Thing You Love Most. He wrote the teleplay for the tenth episode 7:15 A.M. from a story by show runners Adam Horowitz & Edward Kitsis. He left the crew after the eleventh episode The Fruit of the Poisonous Tree.
